When we are tested by a difficulty, our first reaction is to turn to Allah for help. Whatever our spiritual state and level of faith, we require Allah Almighty\’s help. Our continuous prayers bring us closer to Him, increase our faith, and grant us blessings.
Once there was a boy Shahid who was very kind and innocent. He was leading a very happy and peaceful life. Unfortunately, a mishap happened to him, and he lost his eyesight. His parents took him to the hospital, but the doctors did not give them hope. Shahid started hating himself because he was blind and couldn’t see like others. He could not see the beauty of nature, and most importantly, he could not go outside with his friends to play. He also told his parents while crying that he didn’t want to live. Still, his parents always gave him strength and reminded him that sickness and physical ailments are hardships every Muslim faces at some point in his or her life. However, as with all afflictions, we should never forget that the suffering caused by this can purify us and erase our sins. These golden words affected him very much. After a few months, Shahid went to school to study and passed with an excellent grade. He became delighted and, after a passage of time, came to know that his 6th sense was very strong. He could think different, as well as be creative. Allah Almighty says, \”With every difficulty, there is ease”. (Al-Quran).
We sometimes forget that hardships are sent because of Allah’s love for us. For instance, Shahid’s creativity was hidden when he was normal, but he realized it when he needed it the most. At times, his heart got heavy, but then he got used to being blind. After that, he kept getting stronger, more determined, and motivated – not losing hope in his God. He passed his matriculation and intermediate exam with flying colours and decided to become a doctor. With hard work and determination, he got selected for MBBS. His parents were very proud of him. Some people did go against him, saying how a blind person could treat people. But many appreciated him. He went on to become a highly qualified doctor appreciated by everyone. After some time, he became the best doctor in the country. He was very thankful to Allah Almighty for making him creative and responsible. However, all this happened when he became strong and started thinking positively.
There will always be a will of Allah Almighty in everything; He knows what is better for us. No one can be perfect, but we should thank Allah for what He has blessed us with. He never leaves us in our bad times, but sometimes we lose hope and do not realize this. Whenever a difficulty befalls us, we should trust Allah and express gratitude. We should avoid at all costs becoming ungrateful or, even worse, failing the test by losing faith and turning away from Allah (SWT).
Moral
We should be thankful to Allah in every situation for what he has given us. In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty says, ÔÇ£Showing gratitude to the one who created you is a very powerful thing. It gives you a sense of balance and draws good into your life.ÔÇØ
