What Goes Around Comes Around

Mr. Salim was a very wealthy businessman. He was one of the top investors in his field and had a crazy net worth. He owned many software companies in his city and was a well-known property tycoon. With a lot of money and wealth comes a lot of ego. Likewise, Mr. Salim had a very statistical approach in his life as he used to judge and treat people based on their financial and political statuses. Other people considered this a huge drawback, but Salim thought of it as a way to save time by only meeting the “useful” people.

It was a sunny day, and the humidity was much higher than usual. Mr. Salim called his assistant to fetch him fresh juice. All of a sudden, the whole building’s power supply went out. Within a few moments, the entire building felt like a volcano that would erupt at any moment. Mr. Salim, infuriated by this mismanagement, rushed down to the workers and shouted at them for the inconvenience they had caused. The generator had broken down as well. The sun’s scorching heat and humid air boiled up Mr. Salim’s mind even more. In anger, he grabbed the two workers working on the generator by their collars and dragged them into the building. He kept using harsh words toward the workers in front of the whole staff. The poor workers didn’t even raise an eye, knowing this was their only source of income for their families. They had to bear everything Salim said if they wanted to keep their jobs and feed their families. Finally, Salim stopped at the 1st floor. He asked the 2 workers to give a reasonable explanation for whatever had happened, or else they would be kicked out of the office. The 2 workers, upon hearing this, broke down instantly and got on their knees, begging Mr. Salim to show some mercy. They told Salim that the generator not working was not their fault. Salim started abusing them again and even kicked one of the workers. He, unfortunately, tumbled down the stairs from the 1st floor to the ground floor. The rest of the staff rushed toward him to help him out. There he laid, unconscious for a while, full of bruises and a broken arm and leg, constantly bleeding.

Seeing the severity of his condition, the other workers rushed him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Salim stood there laughing at their helplessness. At the hospital, doctors tried their best to help the worker, and, miraculously, he survived. Mr. Salim was charged with assault, but no action was taken against him because of his influence. As revenge, he kicked the workers out, telling them they had attempted to defame him.

The following day, Salim was asleep when he heard his phone ring. As soon as he attended the call, he started shivering and was too stunned to speak. Unfortunately, his son had gotten into a bad accident while racing and driving at a very high speed. Salim was rushed to the hospital, where his son was battling death. After hours and hours of treatment, his son was saved, but half of the son\’s body had been paralyzed because of a brain injury.

Seeing his son in this condition, Salim got stuck in a labyrinth of misery and started weeping. He then remembered that he had laughed at the poor worker when he was taken to the hospital in a wheelchair. Salim, at once, turned to God and pleaded for mercy, shouting, “I’m sorry, I’m ashamed,” but it was too late. He learnt that what you do is what you get.
