As the bell rang, all the students of class seven rushed to the cafeteria for lunch. Among them were Moiz, Hoorain, and Zohan, who are always seen together. The three best friends sat at their regular table and shared their lunch boxes as usual. “Have you come up with the answer to the question we were given for our assignment by miss Zainab today?” asked Hoorain to her best friends. “I haven’t really thought about it much,” said Moiz taking a bite from Zohan’s sandwich, “the assignment asked what we want to be when we grow up, and as much as I want to say ‘It revolves around sleep and food’ I guess I can’t write that” Moiz laughed mischievously. Hoorain and Zohan both laughed at their goofy friend\’s response; “Can’t you be serious for a minute and stop having all my sandwiches?” said Zohan. Moiz didn’t care about it and focused on the pasta he had just poured into his plate from Hoorain’s lunchbox. “What have you thought about it, Zohan?” inquired Hoorain. “So I have been thinking about it since, and I really do want to be a superman; how cool is that, “No”?” Zohan answered Hoorain with clear excitement in his voice. “You mean you want to be a fictional character from some American comic book? Not to add how unrealistic that even sounds?” Hoorain asked, totally taken by surprise. “What’s so unrealistic about it, Hoorain? I want to be strong and aspire to save the world one day. I think that’s pretty heroic,” said Zohan. “Look, Zohan! You may have your perspective, but from my viewpoint, there is nothing glorious about wearing a uniform and going on a journey to save the world by fighting villains. The evil and good always lie inside us, while the biggest achievement is to defeat the evil within and nourish the good inside. The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, ‘The biggest struggle is to battle your own soul, to fight the evil within yourself.’ So, before saving the world, why don’t we save ourselves and try to be better humans. As a result, we’ll be able to make the world a better place. Besides, you don\’t need to possess some supernatural powers to make an impact in the world, for it’s not realistic to idealise such characters.
If you are passionate about bringing good change in society, you can start from your home.
Educate your younger siblings about something you know; plant more trees so the world, in dire need of oxygen, can benefit; use environment-friendly products, especially paper bags instead of plastic, to save sea life and the atmosphere. Furthermore, a teacher, a doctor, a pilot, a farmer etc.; whatever profession you choose contributes to the wellness of the society if chosen with a good intention.\” Zohan listened to Hoorain\’s outlook on the matter carefully, \”Wow! I never thought about it like that. You do have a point, and I agree \’that charity begins at home. Now I have so much to write for my assignment, thanks to the genius of our group,\” smiled Zohan. \”So that means we cracked the assignment, right Moiz? Hoorain asked with a sweet smile spread across her face. \”Umm hmmm,\” Moiz replied with his mouth stuffed with the leftover food on the table. Hoorain and Zohan both looked at him, then at each other and laughed.
