Practice Makes A Man Perfect

“Ali, can you solve this numerical problem?” asked Ali’s teacher.

“No, teacher, I don’t get it,” said Ali worriedly.

“Ali, this is such a simple calculation; I didn’t expect this from you. Are you not practising numerical at home? I want to see all your homework tomorrow.” Ali’s teacher was disappointed in him.

“Ok, teacher,” said Ali sadly.

Ali went home and laid down in his mother’s lap.

“What happened, my son? You look upset.” his mother asked him.

“Mom, my teacher scolded me because I could not do a simple numerical.” Then, Ali narrated what had happened at school.

“Oh! This is because you are not practising what you are taught daily. That is why you are given homework, for practice makes a man perfect.”

Ali’s mom decided to teach him through a story. She said, “Listen, I\’ll tell you a story. Once upon a time, there lived two squirrels named Jolly and Jabba on a tree. Their mother taught them every day how to crawl down a tall tree. Jolly practised daily while Jabba lay on the branch and ate nuts. One day, an eagle tried to attack them. Jolly ran down the tree, but Jabba could not. He directly jumped down in fear and injured himself badly. After that, Jabba learned his lesson and started practising how to crawl down a tree daily. He became perfect at it, and one day, when the eagle tried to attack him, he swiftly crawled down and protected himself. The eagle flew away in anger as he could not catch Jabba.”

“Mom, this means practice makes a man perfect because it allows us to resolve our issues, ” said Ali, understanding what his mom had explained.

“Yes, my son, you are right!” exclaimed his mom happily.

Ali promised himself that he would work hard from then onwards, and after a few days, he happily returned home with a new laptop in his hands. When his mom asked him where he had gotten the laptop from, he replied, “My teacher gave me this laptop because I got the first position in the Math test.”

His mother congratulated him and said, “Indeed, if you want to be the best at something, practice hard for it.”
