Once upon a time, a boy lived in a village with his parents. His name was Atif. Atif was a good boy. He always took great interest in his studies. One day, he was going out to the fields with his mother. They walked on a footpath, enjoying the beautiful weather and cool breeze. Atif loved the view of green trees, birds flying and chirping, and the water in the tubewell. 
Suddenly, a car passed by them, emitting a large amount of Smoke. Atif’s mother told him, “Do you know Smoke pollutes our environment?”. Atif curiously asked his mother, “What is the environment?”. His mother replied, “Everything around us – living and non-living – is called our environment. Soil, trees, water, air, birds, and animals are part of our environment.” Atif was happy to learn about it. He was naturally inquisitive and keen to learn new things.
He asked his mother, “How is our environment polluted?” His mother said, “Smoke from factories and vehicles pollutes our air, so there is no clean air for breathing. Moreover, household and factory waste are also thrown in rivers and canals, which ultimately reach our clean underground water; hence we get unclean drinking water. Our land is also polluted when we discard garbage and plastic bags randomly.” Atif promised his mother that he would not throw candy wrappers on the ground again and would advise his friends the same. Still unclear about the topic, he asked his mother, “What is the benefit of a clean environment?”. His mother said, “clean environment gives us clean air, land, and water. Cleanliness saves us from diseases, and we can live a happy and healthy life.┬á
Atif thanked his mother, and they continued walking toward the fields.
