Good Neighbours

Once upon a time, there was an old woman named Lara. She lived in a big house on a bustling street. She didn’t like living there, for there were a lot of fuss and noisy children around. Lara complained to their parents many times, but no one took notice. So after some time, she decided to leave that house. She then moved into a tiny house on a quiet street where she felt comfortable.

After a few days, Iris and Michael bought the house next to Lara’s, and they became great neighbours and close friends. However, not after long Iris and Micheal had to leave the place. Lara again became worried about her neighbourhood because she became uncomfortable when there was a lot of noise around her. After a few days, when Lara returned from the market, Lara saw that her new neighbours had arrived. She immediately went into her house and started watching from the window. She saw new sofas, beds, furniture, and most importantly, two small cycles. She became agitated after watching those cycles because they meant there were two little children in the family – “noisy creatures”, she thought.

In the evening, there was a concert in the town club. Lara’s favourite band was going to perform, so she went there, locking her house behind her. Although she loved to listen to the lead guitarist play, she couldn’t enjoy the concert because she was worried about her new neighbours. Still, she tried her best to have a good time. It was night when she came back, so she just changed into her night clothes and went to sleep.

The very next day, someone rang the doorbell. When Lara opened the door, she was surprised to see that guitarist – the same guitarist whose art Lara had admired for years was standing in front of her. He told Lara that he was her new neighbour, and, upon being asked, he replied that the two cycles belonged to his twin sons. Lara was so happy to meet her new neighbour and invited him to tea. She even offered him help in settling down in the new town. After that, Lara became super comfortable with her new neighbours, and they also became perfect friends.

Moral

One should always be optimistic about life.
