Dua Batool, a 3rd-year MBBS student whose heart beats for both the science of medicine and the art of story writing, is a 20-year-old woman rooted in the culturally rich and vibrant land of Sindh. Every day, she finds herself swimming into the world of medicine where the human body tells its wonders – every cell, every heartbeat, every breath holding a mystery to be solved. Besides academics, Dua has established herself as a good debater and public speaker. Besides the stethoscope, books, and seminars, one more world moves her heart, a world where imagination rules and life’s intricacies come on paper (or a digital screen). She aspires, under the guidance of reputed Sir Syed Kazim Ali, to learn how to write. Being an introverted person, keen to observe every little detail around the world, she has a huge belief in the beauty of capturing moments, emotions, thoughts, and people and caging them into words. Her dream while growing up has been to translate the world surrounding her into stories, astounded by how fiction could take readers to places totally born out of imagination. This took her down the path of discovering story writing; thereby, she found a blend of two of her passions-medicine and story writing – trying to connect the human body and the human spirit. Each patient she meets carries with him or her not only a medical history but also a life story of struggles, wins, failures, weak moments, and personal battles. While she learns to heal the body, she is equally intrigued to understand what shapes each individual, his feelings, and experiences and puts all those into words that can create laughter, sadness, excitement, emotions, and fear in somebody. To her, story writing is not only an escape but also a method of giving life to everything around her. With this, she invites the readers into a world wherein every narrative bears life as she journeys into the world of storytelling.
