Abdullah's Adventure

This story is written by Sharjeel Ali, a student of class 7.

This is the story of Abdullah, a 17-year-old boy who lived in Karachi. They were four family members: Abdullah, his brother, and his parents. He loved playing tennis, reading books, and writing stories in his free time. Moreover, he was very passionate about helping others and was a very well-mannered, sharp, obedient, strong, and active boy.

Once, Abdullah and his family went to the ocean. They booked a boat and went to an island. And after spending a fun family time there, they decided to head back home. But as the boat started advancing towards land, they heard a cracking noise; the boat had cracked with the water pressure!

Suddenly, it broke down into pieces, and the passengers had to swim back to the island to be safe. But alas, they were stuck there, with nobody to help them and no phone signals to call for help.

Three days had passed. Some people knew how to swim, so they jumped into the ocean and decided to swim to the shore. However, it was impossible, so Abdullah explained the dangers of swimming across the sea and convinced them to stay with everyone else.

Among them was a man with experience living in the wild, so everybody decided to make him the leader. He had to endure many hardships there but helped everyone all the time. Abdullah was greatly impressed by him and used to observe him closely.

One day, an old man developed severe dehydration. The leader looked around and found a coconut tree. He made three people stand on top of each other and climbed on top of them. Then, he plucked a coconut and threw it down. Afterwards, he cracked it open and gave the man the coconut milk to drink, making him feel better.

He had arranged matters so wisely that everybody knew what their duty was. Somebody had to fetch firewood; others washed clothes, and the women prepared food. The leader had the most important task: finding shelter when the weather was bad.

It so happened that a sea storm came one fine evening. Everybody got scared because a seastorm meant that there could be a tsunami. Panic struck the island dwellers. But the leader stayed calm. Knowing that Abdullah was passionately observing him, he called the boy and asked if he wanted to help him. Abdullah happily agreed. Together, they looked for shelter and found a sturdy cave. Then, everybody was gathered inside. The leader and Abdullah used their wisdom to make gates by connecting timbers and ropes. They spent two days in the same cave.

Then finally, in the morning, they saw a ship at some distance. Apparently, the ship had come to look for the stranded people. Everybody quickly collected wood and set it on fire so that the smoke could get the ship’s attention. And so it did, saving their lives.

This was an adventurous story of Abdullah. If you have ever had such an experience, you can share it in the comments!
