Hope Never Dies

This story is written by Maryam Khan Zakria, a student of class 7.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived in Hayatabad with her parents. Her name was Iqra, and she was 10 years old. She was in class 5 and was very intelligent.

One day, when they had the result day at school, she got up all excited because she was sure that she was going to get a prize. However, to receive the prize, she had to be in the auditorium well before the time of the ceremony. So, she put on her best clothes and went out the main door waiting for her school van. When the school van came, she jumped into it to go to school. Unfortunately, on the way, the van broke down. It suddenly came to a halt, making everybody worried. The kids all asked the driver, “Is everything ok?” The driver replied, “Umm, we have a burst tyre.” Iqra and the other kids became anxious. But, Iqra realized what her mother had taught her. She stood up and said,

“Friends, don’t worry and never lose hope, for hope is the thing with feathers.” Listening to this, the kids again became hopeful and started praying to Allah Almighty.”

After a few minutes, the driver came back and told the kids that he had a spare wheel, and the van was fixed and good to go. They all cheered and started jumping in excitement. Finally, they reached the school right in time for the ceremony, and guess what! Iqra got first position in class. She was really happy and thanked Allah Almighty for the success.
