Stealing Is Bad

Practice Makes A Man Perfect

Once, there was a boy named Mehmed who loved adventure. On returning from school, he used to throw pebbles on the trees to get some mangoes. Sadly, one day, he hurt himself while plucking mangoes. However, somehow he managed to reach home with a bleeding leg. When he reached home, his mother inquired, “How did you get hurt?” Mehmed was so embarrassed to tell his mother. Thus, he avoided eye contact. His mother smiled and said, “Mehmed, honey, what did Mummy teach you? Never hide anything from your mother.” Mehmed innocently looked at his mother and told her everything. His mother sighed and said, “Mehmed, my love, stealing is prohibited in Islam even if it is done for the sake of adventure. Allah Almighty and Our Prophet (P.B.U.H.) dislike a person involved in stealing.” Mehmed got embarrassed. His mother continued, “Mehmed, you don’t need to feel embarrassed as you did not know this. But now you must promise mummy that you will never repeat this act.” Mehmed happily promised his mother that he would avoid this act and also tell his friends about it.
